Acetylene bottle is a container for storing and transporting acetylene. The appearance is similar to that of an oxygen cylinder, but its structure is more complex than that of an oxygen cylinder. The main part of an acetylene bottle is a cylindrical welded bottle body rolled from high-quality carbon steel or low alloy steel.
The cylinder must be manufactured, tested and accepted las per GB 11638-2003<Dissolved Acetylene Cylinders, refer to <Dissolved Acetylene Cylinders rules of safety supervise>.
The material of main pressure retaining part of the cylinder and welding material should accord with the regulates of relevant technical standard, and should have the quality certificate and rechecking is ok.
The connection between valve and valve boss, the connection between fusible plug and fusible plug boss, the connection thread should accord with the regulates of relevant standard.
After Macroscopic examination of the longitudinal welding line and horizontal welding line is accomplished and up to grade, the welding line should make the X-ray examination which the length not less than 20% of the length of welding line, assessing according to JB 4730-1994 <Non-destructive Examination of Pressure vessel, grade II is ok.
After all the welding of cylinder are accomplished, the welding line should make the heat treatment in order to avoid the stress.
After heat treatment, the cylinder should be made of Hydraulic test one by one as per GB/T9251-1997<Method for hydraulic test of gas cylinders. The testing pressure is 5.2MPa, the time of remaining pressure is not less than three minutes, the cylinder should be no visible deformation and no visible leaks, the manometer should not be dropped.
The porous mass of cylinder should accord to the follow request:
mass porosity is at the range of 90%-92%
tensile strength 1.8MPa
the total cubage of surface hollow ≤20cm3, and the cubage of one hollow ≤1.5cm3.
axial gap of the cylinder shoulder 2.5mm
The accessories of cylinder should accord with the regulates of GB11638-2003<Dissolved Acetylene Cylinders> and <Dissolved Acetylene Cylinders rules of safety supervise>
After filled with porous mass and assembled with accessories, the cylinder should be made of gas leakage test one by one as per GB/T12137-1989<Method for Gas Leakage Test of The Cylinders. The testing pressure is 3.0MPa, the cylinder should be immerged under the water for at least one minute, no leakage is ok. Then clean up the inner surface and dry it, and make it airproof.
The integrated performance test of porous mass should accord with the regulates of GB11638-2003<Dissolved Acetylene Cylinders
The cylinder should be measured weight, this weight add to acetone weight will be the cylinder tare weight.
